Mojmir Mrak

Mojmir Mrak is a Professor of Economics and Jean Monnet Chair at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. In addition to his academic role, he has been actively engaged in research, policy advising, and consultancy in economic transition, European integration, and financial policy since the early 1990s. He has collaborated with governments, international organizations, and research institutions in Slovenia, Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Turkey, and Ukraine on projects addressing economic reform and financial development. His work has been supported by the European Commission, World Bank, UNDP, OECD, and other international institutions.

His research interests focus on international finance, capital flows, European economic integration, and economic transition, with a particular emphasis on financial stability and policy reforms in emerging economies. His areas of expertise include macroeconomic policy, capital markets, financial sector development, economic governance, industrial competitiveness, and European financial integration. He has provided expert consultation on monetary policy, financial regulation, public finance, and external debt negotiations. He has published extensively and continues to contribute to the academic and policy discourse on economic development and financial stability in emerging European economies.
